[Call for papers - Real-Time Systems Journal - Special Issue]

Dear colleagues,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am pleased to announce the Call for Papers for our Special Issue entitled "Time-Sensitive Networking for Real-Time and Cyber-Physical Systems," to be published as a Topical Collection in the journal Real-Time Systems under the Springer Nature banner. 

This Special Issue seeks high-quality original research that advances theoretical foundations, design methodologies, analysis techniques, and practical applications of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) in real-time and cyber-physical systems. TSN has rapidly emerged as a foundational technology for ensuring deterministic communication over Ethernet in domains such as industrial automation, automotive networks, avionics, embedded systems, and other mixed-criticality environments.

We welcome manuscripts covering, but not limited to, the following topics:

• Real-time analysis and scheduling for TSN-enabled systems
• Integration of TSN with cyber-physical and industrial control platforms
• Experimental evaluations, testbeds, and benchmarking of TSN architectures
• Emerging TSN standards, toolchains, and interoperability challenges
• Security, dependability, and fault-tolerance in TSN-based networks
• Wireless integration (e.g., 5G, Wi-Fi) with TSN for critical communications

Submission Details:

• Special Issue Deadline: 27 March 2026
• Submission to first review notification (tentative): 2 months
• Publication: Manuscripts will be published as soon as they are accepted.

Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal’s online system, selecting the collection title during submission.
